This is a very thought provoking short movie comparing the Holocaust during WWII and the holocaust in America with Abortion. Please watch with an open mind to really think through this moral issue at hand. Listen to how Ray Comfort appeals to peoples God given conscience.
We at I Sought, I Found are VERY Pro Life! However, that does not mean that we don't understand that many people feel pressured by our culture to just deal with the problem (unborn child) and abort it (which is murder). Ronald Reagan, our 40th President of the United States said, "We don't pass (FREEDOM) on to our children in the bloodstream." Think about that statement, it is very true. In America, we have been given the greatest freedom in the world; the choice to choose what we believe and in whom we believe (which currently is being taken away). Abortion simply takes that choice, right and privilege away from the very child who has been aborted, who has been snuffed out and will never have that right. Children have to be born in order to have the freedom to choose. If you have had an abortion or helped a woman to have one, please hear this, there is hope, you can be forgiven by repenting of your abortion (sin) and placing your faith in Jesus Christ. He can heal anyone's past regardless of what they have done, including having an abortion.
It's amazingly sad to see how our culture has become a culture of death. The love of murdering the un-born is barbaric and pure evil. A nation that shows no value for the sanctity of life reveals our crooked and perverse hearts. If we stop and think about our music, movies, t.v. shows, social media, billboards and even podcasts just to name a few show and reveal this truth from Jeremiah 17:5-10 - "This is what the Lord says: "Cursed are those who put their trust in mere humans, who rely on human strength and turn their hearts away from the Lord. They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land."
"But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit. The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? But I, the Lord, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve."
Below is a list of scriptures on the topic of life and using God's word to gracefully talk with people on the topic of Abortion by looking at the author of life and what he has said about how precious life is. If after you read the list of scriptures, I beg you to ask this question, as Ray Comfort and his team asks people on the street, "Abortion is okay when???" Remember, God means what he says and he says what he means. It's for us to read, learn and obey. If we looked at life as precious as God does, abortion would not exist if our culture truly loved God and did as he asked. As you read these scriptures make sure you look at the whole context of the text. We can share only so much of a verse. This is a quick reference guide to help you dig deeper.
Scripture verses on the topic of life:
1. Matthew 12:33-35 - "A tree is identified by its fruit. If a tree is good, its fruit will be good. If a tree is bad, its fruit will be bad. You brood of snakes! How could evil men like you speak what is good and right? For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgement day for every idle word you speak. The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you."
2. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 - "Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying him, and committing yourself firmly to him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, you will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."
3. Genesis 1:27 - “So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
4. Jeremiah 1:5 - “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
5. Proverbs 6:16-19 - “There are six things the Lord hates - no seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family.”
6. Psalm 139:13-16 - "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous - how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed."
7. John 16:21 - "It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy."
8. Exodus 20:13. - "You must not murder."
9. Psalm 127:3-4 - "Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior's hands."
10. Genesis 9:5-6 - "And I will require the blood of anyone who takes another person's life. If a wild animal kills a person, it must die. And anyone who murders a fellow human must die. If anyone takes a human life, that person's life will also be taken by human hands. For God made human beings in his own image. Now be fruitful and multiply, and repopulate the earth."
11. Leviticus 24:17 - "Anyone who takes another person's life must be put to death."
12. Psalm 100:3 - "Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are his. We are his people, the sheep of his pasture."
13. Isaiah 5:20-21 - "What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter. What sorrow for those who are wise in their own eyes and think themselves so clever."
14. 1 John 3:4-10 - "Everyone who sins is breaking God's laws, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him. Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. Dear children, don't let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they are children of God. So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil. Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God."
15. Psalm 94:19-23 - "When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Can unjust leaders claim that God is on their side - leaders whose decrees permit injustice? They gang up against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the Lord is my fortress; my God is the mighty rock where I hide. God will turn the sins of evil people back on them. He will destroy them for their sins. The Lord our God will destroy them."
16. Luke 1:41-45 - "At the sound of Mary's greeting, Elizabeth's child leaped within her, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary, "God has blessed you above all women, your child is blessed. Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me? When I heard your greeting, the baby in my womb jumped for joy. You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said."
17. Proverbs 24:11-12 - "Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death. Don't excuse yourself by saying, "Look, we didn't know." For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul know you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve."
18. James 2:11-12 - "For the person who keeps all of the law except one is as guilty as a person who has broken all of God's laws. For the same God who said, "You must not commit adultery, " also said, "You must not murder." So if you murder someone but do not commit adultery, you have still broken the law. So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free. There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when he judges you."
19. Psalm 22:9-10 - "Yet you brought me safely from my mother's womb and led me to trust you at my mother's breast. I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born."
20. Deuteronomy 24:16 - "Parents must not be put to death for the sins of their children, nor the children for the sins of their parents. Those deserving to die must be put to death for their own crimes."
21. Job 10:8-10 - "You formed me with you hands; you made me, yet now you completely destroy me. Remember that you made me from dust - will you turn me back to dust so soon? You guided my conception and formed me in the womb. You clothed me with skin and flesh, and you knit my bones and sinews together. You gave me life and showed me your unfailing love. My life was preserved by your care."
22. Deuteronomy 27:25 - "Cursed is anyone who accepts payment to kill and innocent person." And all the people will reply, "Amen."
23. Exodus 23:7 - "Be sure never to charge anyone falsely with evil. Never sentence an innocent or blameless person to death, for I never declare a guilty person to be innocent."
24. Ecclesiastes 11:5 - "Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother's womb, so you cannot understand the activity of God, who does all things."
25. Psalm 51:5-6 - "For I was born a sinner - yes, from the moment my mother conceived me. But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there."
26. Exodus 21:22-25 - "Now suppose two men are fighting, and in the process they accidentally strike a pregnant woman so she gives birth prematurely. If no further injury results, the man who struck the woman must pay the amount of compensation the woman's husband demands and the judges approve. But if there is further injury, the punishment must match the injury: a life for a life, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot, a burn for a burn, a wound for a wound, a bruise for a bruise."
27. Psalm 71:5-8 - "O Lord, you alone are my hope. I've trusted you, O Lord, from childhood. Yes, you have been with me from birth; from my mother's womb you have cared for me. No wonder I am always praising you! My life is an example to many, because you have been my strength and protection. That is why I can never stop praising you; I declare your glory all day long."
28. Leviticus 17:11a - "For the life of the body is in its blood." (The mother and baby do NOT share the same blood, proving they are two separate human beings)
29. Isaiah 55:8-9 - "My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, " says the Lord. "And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts."
30. Job 31:15 - "For God created both me and my servants. He created us both in the womb.
31. Isaiah 49:1 - "Listen to me, all you in the distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The Lord called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name."
32. Isaiah 45:9-11 - "What sorrow awaits those who argue with their creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, 'Stop, you're doing it wrong!' Does the pot exclaim, 'How clumsy can you be?' How terrible it would be if a newborn baby said to its father, 'Why was I born?' or if it said to it's mother, 'Why did you make me this way?" This is what the Lord says - the Holy One of Israel and your Creator: "Do you question what I do for my children? Do you give me orders about the work of my hands?
