Revelation 22:17-19 - “The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.’ Let anyone who hears this say, “Come.’ Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life. And I Solemnly declare to everyone who hears the words of this prophecy written in this book: If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book. And if anyone removes any of the words from this book of prophecy, God will remove that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city that are described in this book.“
The apostle Paul also warns us in Galatians 1:6-10 - "I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way (gospel) that pretends to be the Good News but it is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ. Let God's curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you. I say it again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed. Obviously, I'm not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ's servant."
Our aim is not to offend, condemn, hurt, or shame anyone that might be Catholic; rather to share the truth about God’s word as it states and to not add or subtract from scripture as we are warned about in the book of Revelation (see above).
God’s word is the authority in all things (it's the only book we teach from), anything outside of that needs to be tested back against the word of God as we are taught to do. Here is a question to consider, if what you believed to be true was in error (false) would you want to know? After all, our eternity depends upon what we believe.
1 John 4:1-6 - "Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here. But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. Those people belong to this world, so they speak from the world's viewpoint, and the world listens to them. But we belong to God, and those who know God listen to us. If they do not belong to God, they do not listen to us. That is how we know if someone has the Spirit of truth or the spirit of deception."
As a sports chaplain, many players attend chapel from a variety of church backgrounds, in addition to being unchurched. When teaching anyone the Gospel (Genesis - Revelation - a.k.a Route 66) we believe it is absolute and perfect and has been given to us so that we may know who Jesus Christ is and that your salvation is secure. It sounds simple; and it is. The light of the Gospel exposes any and all false hypocrisy of false religious sects, systems and institutions. Please, don't take my word for it - take God's written and inspired Word 2,000 years ago for what he has already revealed to us and repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and become Born Again in Christ Jesus alone!
1 John 5:13-14 - "I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us."
Ephesians 2:1-10 - “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil - the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
1 Corinthians 3:5-15 & 21-22 - "After all, who is Apollos? Who is Paul? We are only God's servants through whom you believed the Good News. Each of us did the work the Lord gave us. I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow. It's not important who does the planting, or who does the watering. What's important is that God makes the seed grow. The one who plants and the one waters work together with the same purpose. And both will be rewarded for their own hard work. For we are both God's workers. And you are God's field. You are God's building. Because of God's grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any other foundation other than the one we already have - Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials - gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay or straw. But on the judgement day, fire will reveal (test) what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved (no loss of salvation), but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.
V.21-22 - "So don't boast about following a particular human leader. For everything belongs to you - whether Paul or Apollos or Peter, or the world, or life and death, or the present and the future. Everything belongs to you, and you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God."
1 Corinthians 1:18-25 - “The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God. As the scriptures say, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.” So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world‘s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish. Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe. It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom (mans religion). So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense. But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.
Mikes testimony will help set the stage for the videos that will follow. Please watch with an open heart. Our mission is one of truth in the Gospel of Jesus Christ - Genesis to Revelation and nothing more.
Mike Gendron (former Catholic of 35 years) is very gracious in how he lays out the truth of the Bible and the deceptions within the Roman Catholic Church. This may surprise many people, but Roman Catholicism has never been Biblical Christianity (even though the Catholic Church has a couple things Biblically correct). This video series will do a great job explaining these truths and the many differences between the two.
I Sought, I Found is more than just seeking and finding the truth regarding Christ but also in finding the truth through scripture it has helped in exposing error in the world and religious systems. When one has learned the truth regarding sin and salvation in Christ, the error of the world's religions jumps off the page. Then you apply God's word to test what you have heard and the Bible will reveal truth from false (1 John 4:1-6).
