Understanding the Book of Genesis from a literal historical understanding is key to the Present. If we understand Genesis from a literal historical narrative given by God himself who was there and did exactly as he said he would, then we have a proper basis for all things Biblical and can build a proper worldview based on a historical and accurate foundation through the lens of scripture. If we get the beginning right then it sets us up to understand Christ when he comes to save us from our sins. As it's been said, the Ark is one of the best representations of salvation found in the Bible. The door on the Ark was the "One Way" for all that entered through it, were saved. All that receive Christ as Lord and Savior, will be saved. God made it very simple. The Bible says Noah was a real man, who built a real Ark, in the face of a real global flood that would be coming to bring judgement upon a totally and corrupt world, much like our world is quickly turning into today. The judgement of God is once again going to come quickly like a flood upon this Christ rejecting world but not by water. Have you been saved by blood of Christ? Have you repented of your sins? Have you joined God's team by receiving his free gift of salvation found only in the perfect and resurrected savior? If not, make today the day you do so before you enter into eternity!
2 Peter 3:3-9 "Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, "what happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created." They deliberately forget that God made the heavens by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water. They he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgement, when ungodly people will be destroyed. But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent."

1 Peter 1:8-9 - "You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls."
